Unveiling of the Colony
Project Year: 2015 – 2017
Client: The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
After a five-month transformation, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia unveiled its brand new restaurant – Colony on 23 September 2015. The name Colony alludes to the seafarious voyage that the British took to travel to the East Indies for trade and commerce in the late eighteenth century. The elegant British-colonial charm of the restaurant is characterised by an eclectic mix of vintage and bespoke furniture, alongside touches of modernity, while old maps, photographs and postcards adorn the walls and partitions, evoking the nostalgia of a bygone era.
Drawing elements from the Colony’s novel concept, an extensive variety of vintage inspired restaurant collaterals and packaging were created with strategic brand applications. Unique items such as beverage tag, bicycle contact card and board, cocktail garnish, boat ticket, invitation scroll, and label for glass jar complemented the restaurant’s look and feel. Other promotional materials crafted include e-banners, email footer, online invitation with animation, poster, lightbox and magazine ad.
Alongside with the Colony, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore’s signature Cantonese restaurant, Summer Pavilion also underwent major transformation and was reopened with a brand new contemporary interiors. An electronic guest invitation with animation was created for the grand opening.
Colony Bakery is part of Ritz Carlton’s Colony Restaurant that offers freshly baked breads alongside a delightful spread of pastries and chocolates. A complete suite of collaterals was created to facilitate the ease of online and in-store orders, using the brand graphics of Colony to enhance the look and feel.
